Buyer's Guide

How to choose factoring software.

Ten questions to put to any vendor before you sign, including us. Each one comes with why it matters and how FactorView answers it.

1. Can I get my data out, in what format, and how fast?

Owning your data is not the same as getting it back. Ask for the export right, the file format, and the timetable in the contract, before you need them.

FactorView: our Terms of Service commit to a complete export if you leave, at no charge, as CSV files with your uploaded documents. Ask for it in writing at least 30 days before your account ends and we deliver it within 30 days.

2. Is the API included, and can I read the documentation today?

Some vendors keep the API for their top tier, or keep the documentation private until you sign. If your audit vendor or your own developer needs it, you want to know now.

FactorView: an open API, included, with public documentation and request and response examples.

3. Who moves my book, and do I have to enter everything twice while I test?

Switching stalls when the factor has to do the data work, or keep two systems current by hand for a month.

FactorView: we load your operating book for you, you compare it with your current system, and we load it fresh at cutover. How switching works.

4. Does it handle every product I fund?

If you run lines of credit or asset-based loans next to factoring, a factoring-only system pushes part of your book into spreadsheets.

FactorView: invoice factoring and asset-based lending on one platform.

5. If you fund carriers, does it know freight?

Fuel advances, broker credit, and the payment and audit networks brokers use are daily work for a freight factor, not add-ons.

FactorView: fuel advances tracked to delivered paperwork, Ansonia and FactorsNetwork broker credit, and your freight partners connected. Freight factoring.

6. Are verifications and NOAs tracked, or just a field?

A checkbox tells you an NOA exists. A tracked process tells you which debtors acknowledged it and which still owe you a signature.

FactorView: verifications sent and tracked from the invoice, and every NOA tracked from created to sent, acknowledged, signed, and released.

7. Can I control what each person on my team sees and does?

A CSR, a collector, and a credit analyst need different access. All-or-nothing roles mean either too much access or a workaround.

FactorView: permissions across 100+ areas of the system, set role by role, with two-factor sign-in for staff.

8. What do my clients get?

Every status call and emailed schedule is time your team does not spend funding.

FactorView: a client portal where your clients submit invoices, add debtors, and pull their own reports at any hour, any day.

9. Does it connect to the partners I already pay for?

Credit bureaus, audit vendors, and payment networks should feed the system you work in, not a second tab.

FactorView: Triumph, Peruse, TransCredit, Transflo, Creditsafe, Ansonia, FactorsNetwork, and more. See integrations.

10. How long am I committed?

A long contract makes the vendor's problems your problems for years.

FactorView: no long-term contract required.
